Photojournalist marketplace with AI tagging and instant licensing
How do photojournalists sell their work straight to newsrooms? Give them a marketplace that tags, protects and licenses every image.
/What we built/
Soora is a Samir Kassir Foundation platform where photojournalists sell photos and videos directly to media organisations.
Every upload needed rich, searchable details and protected previews, without adding hours of admin for photographers.
Buyers search in English and Arabic, so the catalogue had to work both ways, left to right and right to left.
We designed and built the marketplace, with AI doing the tagging.
Built a custom commerce platform with Stripe checkout, subscription packages and instant digital delivery
Added an AI tag generator that writes the tags for every upload
Bulk uploads with shared details, large TIFF files and video
Standard, Enhanced and Exclusive licences, with watermarked previews made automatically
Search and filters by keyword, location, orientation, people and date, in English and Arabic
A live marketplace at soora.store, with photographer profiles and collections
Tags generated automatically on upload
Photographers keep 100% of each sale by default
